Memorial Day Honors

I hope all of my U.S. friends enjoy their Memorial Day celebrations.  Please remember to honor the dedicated men and women of our military who never made it home. Although a simple thank you will never be enough, my family and I are grateful, from the bottom of our hearts, for the service of those lost. I implore you all to keep the military animals in your thoughts as well. So many brave dogs, horses, and other animals have given their service to this country, including laying down their lives alongside their human servicemen and women. Please remember them all this Memorial Day, human and animal alike.

  1. Thank you for the reminder of the service animals to be honored. They are so important, their lives and sacrifice matter, but they are too often overlooked.
And thanks for ranting for me on many issues that I only grouse about internally.

    • You’re right of course — their lives and sacrifice do matter. People often neglect to consider that so many animals were put into service (through no choice of their own) and lost their lives in every war people have fought. Even in so-called peacetime, animals still provide a significant service in a variety of ways.

And you’re welcome, I’m glad to be an outlet of sorts. 😀 I appreciate your continuing to read my work.

  2. Aww, yes remember the dogs who are valiant soldiers. I like to thank the ones left behind who have had hearts broken, too. ❤
    Happy belated memories to you.
