My apologies for the radio silence this past week, but I had white sand and turquoise waters to contend with. Got away for the first time in over 5 years, and while it wasn’t the lush emerald coast of Ireland, it was at least relaxing. Not too surprising, the best souvenir gift to myself from the trip was a t-shirt purchased with a donation to a local SPCA.
Not sorry indeed! That is some REALLY FREAKIN’ BLUE WATER and som REALLY FREAKIN’ WHITE SAND! Glad to hear you got away for some well-deserved R&R and a hard-earned T-shirt! Now we know where all the rum went!
Congrats!
It really was nice to get away for a bit. Thanks for not forgetting me while I was gone. I tried to schedule some posts before I left but with work and all, I just didn’t find the time. And for good or bad (mostly good?) there was no internet access where I was.
By the look of that water, sky, sand, and the carefully omitted pictures of tall.cold tropical adult beverages being served by tall, hot beach studmuffins, I’m thinking a total lack of internet access would be a feature, not a bug!
Can’t say you’re wrong. π
So glad you had a break! Also, very glad you are back. π
Thank you so much! It was nice to relax, but I’m glad to be home. Not sure what that says about me (to willingly give up white sand and turquoise water). LOL
wow! I’m green with envy.
Wish you could’ve come with…knowing how you feel about any kind of cold weather, I think you would have really enjoyed it. It was definitely not cold.
I would have scared the locals and the tourist. they would have seen the glowing white thing walking down the beach with you and would have confused me with a midget abdominal snowman and locked me up. of course I’d suspect you’d get a good snicker outa that.
I’m sorry, but I say you’re wrong…I wouldn’t have (*snicker*) laughed at all (*giggle giggle*).
Happy you got sandy toes and salty locks!
Thanks! It was fun and the first time to get away (to anywhere) in over 5 years. So it was definitely relaxing.
I have to drive eighteen hours to reach the nearest look alike. Don’t get there more often than you get a vacation. Glad you got yours, maybe it’s an omen that you will soon get mine.
I hope you do, whether it’s to the beach, the woods, or anything in-between. Personally, I prefer a decked out cabin in the woods (and not the horror movie variety) but it was still nice to get away and do nothing for a while.
A little tropical paradise will do you a lot of good — it’d damn sure would me ! π
It was very relaxing and did a lot to recharge my batteries (sorely needed). I don’t think I’d want to stay there full time, too hot, but I know there are other beach/coastal areas that have cooler temps and are just as beautiful. If I ever get to one of those, I may not come back! π
I have October vacation ahead to a place I have never been to! My college roommate and first maid of honor moved away from Cleveland, Ohio to Long Beach, Mississippi. It’s close to the Gulf, I haven’t flown on an airplane for over thirty years. My best latest trips to Florida were road trips. I am counting the days, but not literally yet. π
Sounds awesome! I hope you enjoy the vacation AND catching up with your friend!
Thanks so much for your kind wishes!
I was happy for you to have a chance to escape after five years missing special times such as these. There’s nothing better than sitting close to a pool or azure waves lapping rhythmically and feet in sand or raised level in a lounge chair. π Sigh! Now, please don’t wait another 5 years, dear.
