Although, to be fair, if I could convince my landlord that this was indeed a breed of dog, I would have one taking up space on my couch in a heartbeat.

Indeed. Mini horses are the most adorable of dogs. But to be truthful, I know from an acquaintance who raises them that they are frequently stubborn and more like mules than ponies (or dogs) so they might not appreciate your couch.
