The focus here is not telling you about who I am, but rather relating with you through the communication of experiences and emotions. I read that on a motivational poster while sitting in the H.R. office (hey, don’t ask). Thought it was catchy. Anyway, I have a feeling it’s going to be quite a roller-coaster ride. One day I may write about the perils of workplace training or wax poetic about animal advocacy and then seamlessly shift to a dissertation on the glowing merits of Despicable Me. After that maybe an exuberant rant on a newly discovered cheap chardonnay you would swear Trader Joe’s paid me to write. That might be followed up with a trip up, over, around, and down the ol’ family tree where I expose my roots which could lead into recalling a disastrous hair dyeing fiasco where I tried to hide my roots. Ha! See what I did there? Nice pun, right?
My family of course provides much of the inspiration and will probably be discussed way more than they would like. That should be fun.
My main hope is that you dip, swerve, and zigzag enthusiastically in your enjoyment. I invite you to laugh at my blunders, empathize with my yearnings, become prone to fits of welcome nostalgia, leave the page with a sense of warmth, and return when you need to be in touch with a friend.
Let’s go on an adventure, shall we?
Made me smile 🙂 Looks like you started just around the same time as me.. are you a newbie too?
Definitely a newbie and having a ball! Hope you keep coming back. I checked out your blog and really like it! Hopefully your ideas and motivation can rub off on me!
Will be coming back, already signed up to follow you 😉
You’ll figure it out as your blog unfolds. As for your vegan interest…suggest you eliminate one animal meat at a time and eventually you will find that meat does not appeal to you. I have been a vegetarian for about 25 years now…I don’t eat meat or poultry, but I do eat fish and eggs occasionally. There are many types of vegans today…choose what works for you and don’t stress about it…let it happen. Thanks for visiting and following my blog.
Thanks! I work with an animal advocacy group and see way more of what happens at slaughterhouses than I want to, so I definitely have incentive and motivation for going vegetarian. Not sure I could go completely vegan, but time will tell. I really like your blog!
Thanks…I like yours too!
very nice Blog,Take care
Thank you, I appreciate that!
Thank you for looking at my blog. I’m with you. I also would like to live in Ireland.
It’s my dream to go there, one way or another!
Hi Wendy! Thank you so much for the follow in my blog. Read your about me section and decided to follow you as well. I enjoyed what you had to say about you and your blog. 🙂
Thanks! I appreciate that! I look forward to reading through your blog as well!
Hi! Thank you for following me! And, in true, stalker-like fashion, I will now start following you, too. 🙂
Great, thanks!!
I like blogs like this. ;D
Thanks! I hope you enjoy reading my posts!
I have been already! Especially the nerdy musings, because I am one myself. 🙂
Nerds are so cool! : )
I agree! 😀
Hi thank you for visiting and following my blog. I enjoyed your musings, hope to read more from you.
Thanks for reading!! I look forward to reading your posts and hope you continue to enjoy mine!
Hello newest Spikey! I know, a bit corny, eh, but that’s the term that has come to stick for those folk who are part of the clan known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂
Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.
My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it, thrown in for good measure.
My promise to you is not to be overbearing, just a couple of posts a day, maybe 3 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.
Thanks again and hope you have a great day…
UNCLE SPIKE
I look forward to exploring your blog!
Hi Wendy, thanks for the follow! I’ll be taking a look around yours soon (it’s a bit late right now) — so far, your about page is pretty interesting all by itself!
Thanks for following! I hope you enjoy my other posts as well!
Hi, I think your blog is great and I’ve nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. If you’d like to accept please follow the link below. You don’t have to participate, so if this is not something you’re interested in, no worries. Have a great day! 🙂

Thank you for thinking of me! I will check it out!
🙂
Hi, Wendy — Thank you for following WordBowlbyMsCharlieS.com and introducing me to your roller coaster of a blog (I am in complete agreement re: vampires…). Looking forward to more!
Thanks! I loved Hyperbole….the end note about the reason behind the slippers made me smile and then I felt badly that I smiled because I imagine that it wasn’t really a good experience. I really look forward to going through the rest of your writing!
Happy to report I am out of bumble bee slippers and back in heels! Thank you again for the kind comments. Hope to have a “word” from you and look forward to reading more of yours!
So glad to hear you’re better! I’ll think up a good one and send it to you!
Hi Wendy, thanks for visiting my blog! I look forward to following your posts and appreciated your open, heartfelt introduction to readers. Looking forward to chatting with you!
I am thrilled to meet a fellow, dare I say obsessed, bibliophile! I love absolutely everything about books, from the story (obviously) to the feel of the pages to the comfort they bring me when I’m trying to relax, and I’m looking forward to reading through your reviews!
Thank you for the follow, it’s very encouraging.
Terry
I loved your post about the flowers and the red dress! I look forward to reading the rest!
Hi Wendy. Thanks for subscribing my blog and I hope you keep coming back.
I definitely will! I’m looking forward to reading through your posts!
Hi Wendy, thanks for following my blog. I am somewhat the same, my blog posts are sometimes all over the place, but always from unique perspective about art, life, and hope. I look forward to your following your posts also!
I love your Wonderland reference! Life sure does feel that way sometimes. I’m looking forward to reading through your blog!
Thanks for the follow, your blog is great! Will look forward to your posts xxx
I’m glad you stopped by and hope you will enjoy the posts. I really liked your “ex lovers, lies, and strange goodbyes…” It struck a nerve more than I cared to admit and it was beautifully written.
Despicable Me l & 2 are so cute. I love the minions. 🙂 I just read your vamp post and I’m here. You are talking my language and I’m ready for some fun.
Thanks for reading! I love the Minions too and even wrote an entry on them. We all should be so lucky as to have those cute little minions! I’m glad you’re here!
Sorry, LOLOLOL should have been “speaking” my language. It’s been a long day already:)
No worries — I have those kinds of days myself….too often. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog… you must come write at yeahwrite.me sometime. I agree about Eric Northman… but I’ll take Jessica any day.
I love the whole concept behind your blog and I’ve been enjoying going thru the posts! I didn’t remember about Jessica, but you’re right, she’s makes for a great vampire (and beautiful to boot!). I liked her best when she first turned…definitely a predatory version of vampire.
I agree… they all have their moments, and Eric is the only one to stay true. The whole thing with Bill last season was ridiculous.
Thanks for the kind words.
I know, right!? I hated that whole story-line! I thought it was just goofy and ridiculous.
Thank you for the follow, Wendy. I came and rooted around in your posts, and have already found many that I really enjoyed. I look forward to poking around some more!
🙂
Hope you enjoy what you find! I really liked your post on Catherine de Medici. I learned something while being entertained, I loved it!
Thank you very much, and I am sure I will!
Thanks for the follow. I look forward to exploring your blog. When did you start? Has your conception of your blog (what it’s about etc.) changed since you started?
I hope you enjoy what you find here. I started in December 2013 and it’s pretty much stayed the way I envisioned it. I tweaked the menu and such, but the writing has stayed the same. Thanks for reading!
Happy to be here Wendy and I will surely read more soon. My philosophy would say that “trying” to be anything, a vegetarian in this case, will never work. One must want to be a vegetarian, choose to do so and act like a vegetarian! I am a vegetarian myself since three years now and I must say that I enjoy life much better now.
About four to six months after I quit eating meat I began, slowly but surely, to have more energy, feel more supple in my joints and body as a whole, and although it sounds a bit ‘yuk’ to some people, my sweat is smelling much nicer now! .. Seriously, it does!
I have a lot of amazing recipes which I cook on a regular basis, so if you need moral support, shout out :)!
Furthermore, shall we move to Ireland together? I am a carpenter you know, and I walked the Wicklow Way, I know nice places…
I appreciate the moral support! I say “trying” because while I’m being successful on not eating meat, I still crave it. I won’t consider myself successful until I can stop the cravings altogether. I would love to have some recipes — I love to cook and have been trying new things lately. And hell yes, let’s move to Ireland! : )
Hi Wendy!
What a pleasant surprise to have a “New Follower” message pop-up not long after I posted a rant about “Spam Followers” and find out you’re a real, live human being! 🙂 So thank you for choosing to follow my blog!
I just did a quick tour through some of your posts and am loving what I see. Your Facebook one is spot on and gave me a good chuckle.
I’m going to follow you as well and look forward to digging through your musings. 🙂 Take care.
Thanks! I’m glad you liked the Facebook post and hope you enjoy the others you find as well. We have a lot in common I think so I’m really anxious to make my way through your blog!
I’m sure I will enjoy you other posts! 🙂
I must warn you though, if things go as planned, you might find my future posts – at least some of them – to be a bit whiney. I plan to do a bit of venting that I’m not “allowed” to do in “real” world. Hopefully it won’t scare you off! 🙂
Those are the ones I look forward to the most! Venting is always a good thing (I think).
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I look forward to sharing stuff with you and reading your stuff too 🙂
Thanks! We share a hatred for ventriloquist dummies! Those things creep me out. I look forward to reading through your posts.
Great, now I’m going to have nightmares haha
Sorry!!! I do hate those things though. LOL
Hey Wendy, Thanks for the follow!
You’re welcome! I really liked your comment: “What is home? Where do I belong? I’m working on it.” It’s an idea I’m working on myself at the moment with regard to life, so it drew me to you. I’m looking forward to making my way through your blog!
Well, thanks and welcome! I just read your post about Lad and the raccoon — that’s hauntingly sad — You have gotten off to a great start with your blog!
Thank you! It’s a story (Ramses) that has definitely stayed with me.
Hi Wendy, Just read your About and can assure you that you’ll find blogging very rewarding, even if you’re not sure where you’re headed. Don’t forget your faith and your husband. They usually provide great inspiration for bloggers to write about. God bless and happy blogging. Thank you for following my blog.
Thank you for reading! I look forward to making my way through your blog and hope you enjoy mine.
Thanks for following me and thanks for the delightful read in your about section.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy the rest of my posts as well. The photo you have with your entry 40 Days of Lent – Day 24 tugged at my heartstrings. So sad to think of the many children in poverty.
Thanks for following my blog, Wendy. Look forward to looking through your posts.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy what you find here. I loved your post “Gated” Thresholds. I love doors and gates anyway and your photos were really, really good. I can’t wait to browse through the rest of your blog!
Hi Wendy! Thanks for visiting and following my blog. Following back, looking forward to reading =)
Thanks! I look forward to your reading your posts and finding out more about your books.
Hello there,
Thank you for following my blog, and looking forward to your lovely posts.
Hello and welcome! I am so looking forward to making my way through your blog!
Thanks for the follow! I really appreciate it. I’ve been a vegetarian for a few years now, but the transition wasn’t easy, haha.
It’s a lot harder than I thought it would be! I mean cutting out the meat was okay, I could do that, but it’s the cravings that drive me nuts. I guess like with anything, that will ease up over time. I’m really glad to be on this new eating path though.
You know you’ll end up much healthier, Wendy ? – PROVIDED that you take your B12 to replace the meat our bodies have accustomized themselves to …
Thanks! I take B2 for chronic migraines, but will check on the B12. Thanks for the info!
Hello Wendy,
Wanted to come say Thank You for stopping by my blog 🙂
I’m very blessed for the Internet and to find others in Cyber Space as I suffer from Panic with Agoraphobia and Bipolar Depression, so getting out the front door is a very big fear & challenge at times for me. I’m enjoying exploring and reading you posts! I’m now following! I have 2 blogs, one for Recovery and One as my Author/Writers Blog. Nice to meet you….
Hugs & Blessings
*Catherine* 🙂
It is very nice to meet you too! Thank you for following — I hope to get the chance to chat with you more as we wind our way through each other’s work!
Hi, I nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. You can see it on my blog at: http://susanneleist.wordpress.com/ If you choose to nominate your fellow bloggers, all you have to do is share with 15 bloggers and share their links. And then link back to my blog. You don’t have to do the 7 facts about yourself. Thanks, Susanne
Ha! Ha! My family also provides endless material. Thanks for the follow.
I love your blog! And yes, family does provide inspiration, whether they want to or not! ha ha
Yes. Right. I have visited your blog. Really appreciate what you do. Success.
Thank you!
Wendy, I could only smile…keep sharing and have a very lovely evening!
Thank you for reading and commenting (and following)! I appreciate it.
Delighted to have found your blog – looking forward to more reading. Regards from Thom at the immortal jukebox.
Thank you! As I say to everyone, both my mind and my writing tend to wander, so hope you find at least some of it enjoyable. I’ve been poking through your blog as well and have been thoroughly enjoying myself. I’m looking forward to making my way through the rest!
Great. Hope you’ll comment. Regards Thom.
You make me smile! I love that you have so many ideas you’re not sure what you’ll write about. And why not. With two kids and life in general, who knows what each day will bring!!! Thanks for following Oh, the Places We See. It’s great to have you aboard! http://ohtheplaceswesee.com
I’m definitely enjoying working my way through your blog! My attention span (or lack thereof) along with my crazily varied interests definitely make for a meandering blog…I hope you’ll enjoy reading some of the posts. 🙂
Thanks for following thinkdreamdo. I too have a blog-of-all-trades and I hope you enjoy the random ramblings you find there. Best wishes in your blogging journey! And I’d also like to live in Ireland! 🙂
I truly think Ireland is the place to be! I hope you get there one day!
Hi, you’ve been nominated for the Premio Dardos Award! Peace and blessings! 🙂
I just saw this comment and I truly, truly apologize for not responding sooner! I feel horrible. Thank you so much for the nomination! I’m keeping my blog “awards free,” but it means a great deal to me that you would think enough of me to nominate me for this particular award. Thank you so much!
Hi Wendy! It’s been a long time! 🙂 But I still like your blog very much so I nominated you for The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award! 🙂 I hope you accept it.
You can find the details here: https://iridescentspirits.wordpress.com/2015/01/25/its-an-award/
Keep up being awesome and cheers! 🙂
Hello! There were a couple of older comments that I missed because I didn’t get notifications and yours was one of them. I feel awful for having missed them — I am so, so sorry!! Thank you so much for the award nomination! I’m keeping my blog “awards free,” but it really means a lot to me that you remembered my writing and would nominate me for an award. Thank you!!
🙂
Yo, Wendy. Good morning this first or second day of spring. Ha! I nominated you for the Liebster Award today. I don’t know if you participate in the WordPress Award process or not. If so, have fun! If not, please accept this as a sign of my respect for your talent and appreciation of our friendship. Here’s the link to my post. Have a great weekend. Who will make us mad today, my friend? — Mark
http://markbialczak.com/2015/03/21/a-liebster-award-from-rachel-across-the-pond/
It sure doesn’t seem like spring, at least not here! Thank you so much for nominating me! I’m keeping my blog “awards free,” but to have you nominate me for any award means a great deal because I truly respect your writing and your opinion. So in my humblest voice, thank you.
Hi
Thank you so much for finding my blog and reading a post, I really enjoyed your about me. So I am looking forward to reading some more of your posts
Thank you! I’m going to be following yours as well! I think we have a similar view on many things, or at least I get that through the entries I’ve read on your site so far.
I would probably agree with you on that, certainly the same outlook on things also I think the same sense of humour
Oh, Wendy … Anybody home? I have tapped you in the Freestyle Writing Challenge. Have a blast. The word I picked kinda sorta fits into your airline post today. 🙂 http://markbialczak.com/2015/06/02/freestyle-writing-challenge/
Pingback: 3 Days Quote Challenge: Day 2 | The Ugly Duckling's Life
Hello there.! How are you?
I stooped by today to let you know that I have nominated you for this 3 day quote challenge. Not sure if you participate in these challenges or not. But I will leave a link here anyway. https://theuglyducklingslife.wordpress.com/2015/06/27/3-days-quote-challenge-day-2/
Have a lovely weekend. =)
Made me smile and happy within. That was the most poised and subtle introductory.
